A little about me

As far back as I can remember I have had a love for photographic images. I remember as a young girl seeing beautiful images in magazines and thinking “ I want to create something like that.” I had big dreams of becoming a photo journalist when I was a teenager, but upon taking photojournalism in college, I quickly decided it wasn’t the discipline of photography that’s right for me.

My life took a turn shortly after I entered adulthood, when I found my calling in motherhood. I have raised 8 beautiful and amazing children; I have welcomed, guided and supported countless others searching for a safe place to call home, loving them like my own. Throughout my life I realized the importance of capturing memories as they come. I know first hand the heartache of losing photos to an unforeseen tragedy or life event.

People often ask “Why Photography?” I have been discouraged, I have had business professionals tell me I picked the hardest career to break into, I have even been told to give up, that “It’s too competitive, and success can’t be achieved”. Over the years this has only pushed me to work even harder to perfect my skill, and to develop a much deeper love for my craft. I’ve spent countless hours educating myself both in a traditional setting and on my own. Technological advancements and constant changes in the industry, have helped me developed an attitude of life long learning in my career pursuits.

So, “Why Photography?” It’s simple, I love what I do. I don't just take a picture, I capture memories. I strive to show a glimpse of the story behind the photograph - the candid moments, the playful and loving side people don’t openly show the world and the true relationships between those who trust me to capture the most precious moments in their lives.

I enjoy the relationships built with my loyal clients. I get to watch their children grow, to laugh and celebrate with them. I get to be witness to amazing moments unfolding as I continue creating beautiful keepsakes that can be cherished for generations to come. I get to know my business clientele and feel their excitement as I help them to create beautiful images in support of their dream. My clients are not just a number, they become friends.
